4 April - 3 May: 'You would never believe me if I told you' by Imogen MacDonald
You would never believe me if I told you by Imogen MacDonald (QLD).
Category: Exhibitions
Imogen MacDonald adopts the picture book as a vehicle for fantasy and imagination in You’d never believe me if I told you. Using illustrations found in books from her childhood, MacDonald constructs elaborate, playful dioramas in the domestic spaces of her home. Through the use of self-portraits, she playfully inserts herself into these scenes, exploring the necessity of fantasy in our lives and the sense of loss we feel in leaving childhood behind.
