'You’d never believe me if I told you' by Imogen MacDonald
This series deals with having to come to terms with living in a world of harsh reality by looking back to time when magic and reality merged seamlessly, bar the odd piece of sticky tape or string.
Both children and adults use magical beliefs to deal with the chaos of both their inner and outer lives. It is encouraged in children, discouraged in adults. As we grow older we forfeit the right to magic away the chaos.
Yet into adulthood the mind continues to have a proclivity towards magic, make-believe and fantasy particularly in times when faced with the fear of the unknown. One of the most common outlets for these internal worlds is the book, so through the use of cut-out children's books this series embraces the power of the book and it’s ability to bring otherwise impossible worlds to life.
This series celebrates the importance of our imagined worlds and the way in which these worlds help us to make sense of the real one.
