'Every man wants to build something' by Audrey Lam (QLD)

In Every man wants to build something, the flux of construction and demolition sites are inflected into a personal sphere, a private merzbau. The technique of stop-motion collage pleats matter, perpetually forming, re-forming and per-forming. Walking and seeing, touching and holding, twisting and assembling are intensions and continuations of inhabiting the communal and continual terrain. Audrey Lam

Audrey Lam was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Brisbane. She completed a Bachelor of Screen Production in 2001 and a Master of Arts in Visual Arts in 2009, both at Queensland College of Art. Her work has been presented various galleries and film and animation festivals, including Melbourne International Animation Festival, Stuttgart Trickfilm-Festival and Yebisu Alternative Art and Film Festival, Tokyo.
