Spatial Awareness #2 critiques the mechanisms of seduction, addiction and escapism in the interior spaces of casinos and games arcades through the reductive reconstruction of these scenarios. Falling under constructed photography, the work presents photographs of miniature interiors focusing on the elements, which are specifically designed to encourage or discourage human behaviour. The linkage between the casinos and games arcades is of particular interest.

Ashleigh Kennedy was born in Brisbane, 1988. She graduated with a Bachelor of Photography majoring in photographic art practice from the Queensland College of Art in 2008 and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Photography with Honours from which she will graduate in November.
