Artist statement:
For my photo series I am analysing the conditions of digital photography in the context of mass media for example its standardization and reflect these in a conceptual manner. My works are very diverse both in their specific theme and in the way they are done, because they deal faceted with single aspects of the mentioned Question.
The results of my research are elaborate picture editings, collections of found internet pictures, photo-documentations, an interactive photo, and digital photocollagues. In my current work „Folds“ the large scaled pictures show a confusing network of convoluted folds in white paper, without any appointed course or structure.
The pictures are generated via a manifold transformation process: white din A4 copypaper is folded, via photographing these objects a digital, photographic archive with several hundred pieces is constructed. It is the basis for the final pictures that are merged together in a very long process at the computer. The final photographs have no longer a reference in reality, as they are totally invented and therefore are quite similar to drawings.
Format: 200 x 140 cm, bzw. 230 x 140 cm Diasec
